Useful things like tools, buildings, and machines are the outward manifestations of the human tendency towards abstraction. Communication, consciousness, and culture all spring from that same behavior, meaning that we can't use them to understand abstraction. My artwork is based on pursuing the new ways of sharing, knowing, and seeing that are necessary to catch an ever-fleeting glimpse of the nature of abstraction.
