Along with a team of designers, Brian Winter, HyeKyung Yoo, and Nallieli Santamaria, I identified a long-term growth strategy for CareerBuilder and planned its implementation. By understanding its users, competitors, and core competencies in the context of a changing cultural and technological landscape, we developed a clear undersatnding of where the employment services industry is headed and how this company could play a major role in it. In the 'fuzzy front-end' of the design process - where all assumptions are left behind - the designer relies heavily on intuition. To build a more robust set of tools to help put a problem in context, I worked with Apeksha Garga, Payaal Patel, and Nikhil Mathew to develop a trend graphing method that will let designers aggregate contextual research across projects.
