The Centro de Estudios Superiores de Diseño de Monterrey is an undergraduate college in Monterrey, N.L., Mexico. I was invited to introduce students to design and innovation methods during the first 5 weeks of 15-week workshop classes in digital media. I created and led exercises in design research, grounded theory analysis, iterative paper prototyping, interaction design principles, and problem reframing.
Students with experience in videography were asked to create short videos to help promote a local microfinance organization. I showed them a structured way to gather their assumptions and observations, shape them into compelling stories, and start to create videos.
I worked with students to develop a theory of interactive music videos and introduced them to Processing as an implementation tool.
